If you have a happy "tail" to share about an animal that came from the Cape Ann Animal Aid,
please e-mail your story and a digital photo (if possible) to info@capeannanimalaid.com
Stories and photos can also be mailed to the CAAA at 260 Main St., Gloucester, MA, 01930.

Greetings Everyone -
Last year I adopted Goldie from you, and she became a bookstore cat in Boston. We discovered this on the internet today and I am forwarding it to you. (Click here for the link.) There is Goldie (now Dusty, like dusty old books) lying in the window of Commonwealth Books. The green cushion was specially made for her when we discovered one of her favorite places was lying in the window to watch the pigeons outside in early morning. Dusty has a facebook page but there is not much on it yet, and no pictures. Maybe we'll start with this one. Dusty is loved by all, judging from the number of customers who come in just to play with her and pat her. I think she is enjoying her life of adulation.
Wish I could adopt all the cats you have because you are truly a wonderful place!
Sincerely,
Phyllis |

Hi,
We adopted Brandy on 4/8/2010 and thought we would give you an update on her progress. She is doing great and is very, very happy here. The entire neighborhood loves her and when we take her out for walks she must say hello to everyone. She is about 15.6 lbs and her vet says she is doing very well. We had her housetrained in about a week - she is very smart.
Thanks

Hello,
Just a quick note to let you know how happy I am with my new puppy. We have renamed him Juneau (he was Jersey) and my entire family adores him. Thank you for rescuing him for us! He's a doll! I bought him a little kiddie pool today to cool off. He loves it! Sorry I couldn't make it to the reunion at Stage Fort Park. He is growing fast and is a great dog. He has already doubled his weight. Loves everyone and loves to play. He's a lot of fun. Everywhere I go people stop to ask me about him. In fact it's hard to take him for a walk because of all the stopping we do...
Thanks again,
Kathy |

Hi!
We wanted to write and give you an update on "Daffy" and "Bugsy"...they are now named "Manush" (rhymes with push) and "Kitty-Wampus." They are loving the house and are almost fully integrated into our existing kitty family. We are taking it slow, they still sleep in a crate at night, just to be safe. They are SO loveable, and we are so happy we (unexpectedly) brought both of them home. They are wonderful with the kids, and really enjoy playing with all their toys!

Hi there!
We adopted Violet (previously Panda Kitten) in March. She's a wonderful kitty and loves to watch birds and squirrels on sunny window sills, she plays like a champion, is quite the huntress, snorts when she's happy, and absolutely loves her older sis, Olive. Due to her wild kitten ways, her older sis is still a little wary of her and her rough, excited play, but Violet has shown wonderful improvement after only a month. As she continues to grow, so will their friendship! She has definitely found her forever home, and we're so happy to have another cat in the family that continuously brings joy into our lives.
Lots of love,
Kaitlin, Jesse, Olive, and Violet

Hello Cape Ann Animal Aid!
Just wanted you all to know that Mia, formerly known as Waleska, has settled in quite nicely and is very much enjoying her new digs. Much to our collective dismay, my three cats (also all former residents of Cape Ann Animal Aid) have all accepted her rather graciously. Not one hiss yet to be heard — just lots of mutual curiosity.
Thanks for taking such good care of her while she was in your hands and rest assured, she's found a happy home.

Thank you!
We have found our sweet girl...it's been a long process, and she appeared in our lives at just the right time. We are grateful, and we promise to love and care for this wonderful doggie. She already feels like family.
Have a great night,
Suzanne & Family

Hi,
First, we would first like to send a BIG THANK YOU!!! to you, All Sato Rescue and Manos por Patas for all your heroric efforts in saving the dogs in Puerto Rico. We felt it was important to inform you that Pepper (formerly Charlene) is now in a good home in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
We acquired her through the Cape Ann Animal Aid during a sidewalk bizaar which they participated. She literally stole our hearts and will forever change our lives. Because of your help, Pepper now has a new playmate (Freckles). Plus, my two year old daughter to play with. She mixes very well with everyone and is loved very much. A very happy puppy with all the signs of a jack rabbit. She certainly can bounce!.
Attached you will find a few pictures of Pepper in her new home as redemption. We hope you that enjoy them and will share them with others in your organization as a tribute to all that you have done. As you already know your hard work is extremely important and pivotal in providing a second chance for those that are abandoned there, and we just wanted to say from the bottom of our hearts "Thank You" for all that you have done.
Sincerly

Hello Everyone at Cape Ann Animal Aid,
My name is Claudia and I adopted a 10 week old puppy from you guys back in October/November 2004. Her name was "Pokey" but I changed her name to Georgia since I guess she was from Georgia the state. I just want to give you guys an update on her. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale with her in April of 2005. She will be 5 years old in the fall. She is a very very very happy and energetic dog. Since we've been here in FL she has really taken to the beach and loves to swim. I can't get her out of the water. She's obsessed with playing fetch. I really lucked out with her. I couldn't ask for a better dog. She has a great temperment and is great with other dogs, people and kids.
Thanks!!
Claudia

Happy New Year! Just wanted to check in and let you know everything is just fine. Harvey and I still run around and chase each other and end up in some sort of trouble. That darn cat. Dad wanted me to go out with him this morning why he'd shoveled that white stinking stuff. Check out this photo!

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know how great Kamden (formerly Timber) has been doing. Kamden has adjusted well to his new home. He is beginning to fill out a little and his bathroom habits have really improved. His coloring is starting to darken a little and he seems to be losing that great puppy face of his. Nikita and Kamden have
really taken to each other and love to go on long hikes thorough Ravens Wood or a good run on Good Harbor Beach. Here are some recent photos of Nikita and Kamden enjoying Good harbor beach.
Take care and keep up the great work.
Steve and Rebecca

Hello CAAA -
My mother, Marjorie, adopted Mufasa several months ago. She asked me to send along this update that she wrote along with a few recent photos:
Mufasa is a great cat! I brought him home from the shelter and he immediately ran under the bed. I thought that I wouldn't see him again for a couple of days. It didn't happen. Two hours later he came out, checked out my apartment, came to the couch where I was sitting and jumped up beside me. He checked me out and decided to stay. It is his apartment now - I just pay the rent.
He won't drink water out of his dish on the floor so I keep a dish in the sink and another in the bathtub. This is what he prefers.
He sleeps with me at night. He stretches out in the middle of the bed and I can have the edges. He loves to attack my feet while I'm sleeping.
Mufasa rules the roost!
Thank you so very much for putting us together,
Marjorie |
