Open your heart to an overlooked pet!
Join Cape Ann Animal Aid on every 3rd Thursday of the month for an Overlooked Pets Adoption Day!

We take this opportunity to highlight some of the animals that have been in our shelter for longer than the average stay and reduce their adoption fee for the day--on some occasions the adoption fee is even waived for specific animals!

Sometimes there is no real explanation for why the animal has gone overlooked; other times, the animals may have what some may consider “imperfections” such as medical or physical challenges or have less popular attributes like cats or dogs with black fur, are older in age, or need additional behavioral training.

Photos and adoption fees for the select overlooked pets will be posted on this page prior to the 3rd Thursday of every month (usually on the 3rd Monday of every month).

* Please note that adoptions will be completed on a first come, first serve basis and all regular adoption requirements apply.

Overlooked Pets Adoption Day: Adoption Fee Waived! (Regular Adoption Fee is $100)

Age: 3.5 years

About: Hello my name is Dublin and I am a Casanova for sure. I just love to flirt with visitors and tempt you to pet me or offer up a game of catch the string. I am a happy go easy kind of guy and take most things in stride. I don't mind sharing space with other cats and the commotion of shelter living doesn't stress me out much at all. I originally came to the shelter when I was found as a stray. When I first arrived I was a bit beaten up and because I didn't think to pack my veterinary and vaccine history when I left or got evicted from my former home I ended up having to stay for a 6 month quarantine. I am happy to report my quarantine time is up and I am busy making myself irresistible, 6 months is more than enough time in a shelter, don't you think I deserve my own home now?! I really am a super sweet and lovable fellow just ask anyone here they are happy to vouch for me. If you are looking to add a feline friend to your household please come down and visit and I am sure you will fall in love. I am considered a Special Needs adoption because I am FIV positive. FIV positive means I have a compromised immune system so could be more susceptible to disease but kept inside, with good care and low stress many FIV positive cats can have happy long lives. I am worth the chance, remember nothing in life is guaranteed so live each day to fullest by adding an incredibly handsome and loving feline to your life today!
