Did you know? Senior or older cats often go overlooked in shelters and spend a longer time waiting for a home than younger cats.

Here at Cape Ann Animal Aid, senior cats (6 years or older) used to spend an average of 46 days waiting for adoption. In an effort to help senior cats find homes faster, we began WAIVING the adoption fee for all senior cats starting in May of 2014 as part of a new Super Seniors Adoption Program.*

Within the first six months we saw a 75% increase in senior cat adoptions. By the end of 2016, senior cats spent an average of just 23 days waiting for adoption -- that's a 50% decrease in adoption wait time! Senior cats make great pets and many have a lot of years of life and love left to give! Please consider opening your heart and home to a Super Senior Cat today!

This program continues to thrive and we are thrilled to help more and more super senior cats each year. Please consider making a donation to help us cover the cost of care for senior cats so we can continue to waive their adoption fee and keep up the adoption momentum!

Ready to adopt a Super Senior? Our adoption counselors are ready to help you every step of the way! The best part is that animals in our care receive routine veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, are micro-chipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee is waived for all cats aged 6 years or older but all regular adoption policies and procedures still apply.
